Dr Theodor Herzl was a journalist, writer & activist, known to be the father of modern political Zionism. He formed the Zionist Organization and was an advocate for the creation of the Jewish State in Palestine.

In celebration of the 120th anniversary of the first World Zionist Congress, and the 100th anniversary of the issuing of the Balfour Declaration the Academy wished to expand on the impact that Dr Herzl had in forming the Jewish State and modern Zionism.

The imagery used in the artwork depicts Dr Herzl himself alongside the well known inventions, designs and creations of Israel which he played a part in making possible.
