Eicha, also known as the Book of Lamentations, is a collection of poems lamenting the destruction of Jerusalem.

The Academy delves into the poetry and meaning of the book through the remarks of well-known and respected Jewish commentators.

The imagery used in the artwork reflects the grief of the traditional author and prophet Jeremiah, in the face of the destruction of Jerusalem. The Roman mural depicting treasures being carried off from the Jerusalem Temple, weighs on the shoulders and mind of Jeremiah, furthering the bleak tone of the book.
